Scammers find travelers looking for lucrative offers and cheat on them, depriving them of a deposit for a variety of reasons. So, the owner of an apartment in Kiev accused a tourist of stealing the TV and did not return her security deposit. But in fact, there was simply no such item in the rented housing. To prevent this from happening, experts advise taking photographs of the apartment upon arrival and before leaving.

Check the authenticity of photos

Tourists need to clearly speak with the owner what kind of housing is offered in the ad. Sometimes the owners do not speak the whole truth and show fake photos. So, the traveler paid for renting a room in a decent house in the Carpathians, but when he arrived at the address, he found a cargo container on the side of the road. You should always pay attention to the authenticity of the photos: they must be clear and realistic, made from different angles.

In case the number of guests exceeds the one specified in the contract, the owner of the accommodation will be entitled to write off the extra money from the guest’s account.
