The Verkhovna Rada tightened liable for any damages objects utilities. Yesterday, a law was passed, which supplemented the Penal Code a new article. The author of the law - the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov - explains that the recent increase in injuries and deaths of citizens related to intentional injury by others object utilities.

According to a new article of the Criminal Code, willful destruction or damage to housing, facilities improvement, heating, water and drainage systems and their networks, or components (manhole covers, grates), if losses exceeded 5,100 hryvnia, punishable by a fine of 100 to 250 untaxed minimums of profits citizens (1700-4250 hryvnia), or correctional labor for up to two years, or restraint of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same period.
The same actions committed repeatedly or dangerous way, shall be punished by imprisonment from 3 to 8 years. If the damage occurred in a large scale (17,000 hryvnia), the death of a person or other grave consequences, the perpetrator faces imprisonment for a term of 5 to 12 years.
