In Kyiv City Council, deputies approved new rates of tourist tax - it will be 1% of the cost of rented space for foreigners and 0.4% for Ukrainian tourists from other cities. This is reported on the website of the KSCA. Tourist tax includes the cost of beds and rooms in hostels, hotels, apartments and apartments.
“The correction of penalties is due to changes in the Tax Code of Ukraine. Today we directly tied the tourist tax to the minimum wage (4173 UAH). The legislation provides that the city authorities may impose a tax of up to 5% for foreigners and 0.5% for domestic tourists. However, in order not to have a big differentiation, we accepted the following rates: 1% for foreigners and 0.4% for Ukrainians, ”explained the head of the Kyiv City Council permanent commission on budget issues, Andrey Strannikov.
Therefore, every tourist will be able to calculate their own expenses. However, the market will become more open, according to the city hall.
“If in 2019 the flow of tourists remains at the level of 2018, which is 3 million domestic and almost 2 million foreigners, then Kiev can receive up to 150 million UAH. taxes. All funds will be spent on the development of the industry and the promotion of our city. Last year, the tourist tax amounted to UAH 33 million, "said the Wanderers.
It is also reported that the decision provides that all institutions that provide temporary accommodation services will be listed on the website of the city government. Previously, the tourist tax was 1% of the amount that the tourist paid for accommodation at the accommodation sites.
