According to statistics in the Transcarpathian region, there are 356.3 thousand households, of which 59.3% live in rural areas. The average household size is 3.43 people and is the highest among the regions of the country.
Every second household has a composition of children under 18 years. The share of such households the highest among the regions of the country. Almost every second household has children aged 7-13 years, one in four - up to three and 6.3 years, one in five - 16-17 years, and 18,4% - aged 14-15 years.
The percentage of households in the area where there are children who are brought up in single parent families is 7.2% of the total number of households with children by 8.0% last year and 21,2% in average. Seven out of ten households are composed of one child.
Conditions and living standards of households are highly dependent on the number of adults in their composition. More than half of households with children have in their composition of three adult persons or more, 42,7% - two men and 2,0% - one adult.
Number of households, which in its composition does not have children is 164 700. At the same time every fourth household is composed of one person, 56.7% are working age. Among households consisting of two or more people, four out of ten have composed exclusively of persons of working age, and every fifth - only working age.
Eight out of ten households in the area are composed of working people. The region is characterized by household composition which has one (48,1%) and two (35,0%) persons.
Seven out of ten households in the region live in individual houses, 23,4% - in a separate apartment. By type of property the vast majority of private (privatized, bought) housing.
Significant impact on living standards is the availability of private farms. Eight out of ten households in the area are using their land, and six out of ten - contain the livestock, poultry, bees.
